I am JoshM, the hidden vessel of an artist named Joshua, I am a father, a husband, a poet, a minister, and creator whose work fuses poetry, music, visual art, and ritual symbolism into communal experiences of healing and advocacy. Cloaked entirely in black, standing six feet tall, and hidden behind a smooth mirrored face shield, I reflect the world back to itself. In my presence, people do not see me; they see themselves, their pain, their hope, their resilience. My anonymity is not concealment but revelation, a way to turn the focus outward so that others may feel truly seen.

My art is a mirror. I blend chants, spoken word, my poetry and visual storytelling into rituals that honor the innocent and the unheard. Every symbol I wear, the mirrored mask, the gauntlets, the black hoodie, is chosen to embody empathy, humility, and protection.

I do not create to elevate myself, but to invite others into a space of healing and resonance. My work is a call to unity, a reminder that survival can be transformed into hope, and that radical love is possible when we truly see one another.

My journey began in darkness, shaped by the pain and survival of Child abuse, Sexual assault, Psychological/Emotional abuse, Discriminatory abuse because of my disabilities and exploitation by individuals that were meant to love and or protect me.

My wife became my anchor, she literally saved my life, entering my despair seeing me, and transforming it into partnership and courage. She reintroduced me to Christ through love, empathy and understanding. That love became the foundation of my mission, to help others feel less alone. Through JoshM, I embody anonymity and reflection, turning the focus outward so that others may see themselves and know they are not invisible.

My artistry is deeply philosophical. I weave my belief, my understanding of Christ, scripture, and spoken word pieces into communal rituals that invite listening, healing, and unity. Technology extends my voice, allowing me to overcome physical limitations and amplify my message. My performances blend genres and instruments into emotionally charged experiences that honor the innocent and the meek. At the core of my work is humility. I resist personal glorification, instead I use my pain, my survival and my experiences to help others with there stories and struggles. My art is advocacy, gentle, inclusive, and rooted in lived experience. Every creation is a vessel for emotional resonance, a call to protect the vulnerable, and a testament to the transformative power of being truly seen.

JoshM exists to help others feel seen and less alone, to transform survival into hope and communal strength, to protect the innocent and amplify unheard voices, to build unity through art, poetry, and radical love, and to create sanctuaries of healing and resonance where empathy becomes action.

I am not here to be admired. I am here to be a mirror. When you look at me, you see yourself, and in that reflection, you find love, forgiveness, and unity.  I do not seek fortune, nor do I seek fame…

I just want to help, and if my poetry does that, then I am fulfilled.

💚 to All

Who is JoshM

I use real instruments and my own damaged vocals together with music editing software, simulated instruments, drumpads, voice changers, and some AI tools. These are not shortcuts. They are ways to help me breathe more fully, to lift my voice, and to repair some of the harm done to me through severe child abuse.

Every instrument I play, and use is tied to a person. Some are tied to those who helped me heal, and some are tied to those who hurt me. In this way, each sound carries memory, reconciliation, and transformation. I can speak, I can sing, I can play piano and keyboard, flute, drums, and a few others. The rest I taught myself, through technology and learning to read music, to feel music, and see music differently and to let it become a vessel for my poetry.

I use voice changers because, in all honesty, even though I hide my real voice in the music and poetry, I change it up and disguise it. I do this intentionally, because I want you to hear yourselves, not me. I want you to see yourselves, not me.

Every note I share is both wound and remedy. The rawness of my voice is intentional. It bears witness to harm, while the tools I use help me reclaim what was taken, extend what was limited, and turn damage into healing.

This is not perfection. It is survival turned into song. My art is a sanctuary where pain becomes reflection, and reflection becomes communal healing
